Birchwood Children’s Centre is one of Hertfordshire’s 82 Sure Start Children’s Centres designated in May 2003.
The aim of the Children’s Centre is to support local parents to enable children to have a good start in life. We do this by working with other partners to deliver services tailored to meet individual needs.
We welcome all children and families from within the Birchwood Community to visit the Centre and take part in the many activities we have on offer.
We also actively seek representatives from the local community to share their views and represent the community in shaping the future progress of Birchwood Children's Centre.
At Birchwood we are committed to the equality of education and opportunity for all children, staff, parents and carers receiving services from the Centre, irrespective of race, gender, disability, faith, religion or socio-economic background. The Single Equality Scheme is a public document. We will be happy to provide you with a hard copy of this document if you require one (our contact details are on this website).
The Single Equality Scheme consists of two parts:
1. Policy - Our vision and how we work to promote equality for all in our Centre.
2. Objectives - Our targets for Equality within Birchwood Children's Centre and how we hope to achieve them.
